—Ξεκινά απόψε στο Λονδίνο το 6ο Φεστιβάλ Ελληνικού Κινηματογράφου—
Δεκάδες ταινίες και σενάρια παρουσιάζονται τη φετινή χρονιά στο ετήσιο Φεστιβάλ Ελληνικού Κινηματογράφου Λονδίνου. Όπως πάντα ανεξάρτητο, μαχητικό, προοδευτικό, δημιουργικό και εναλλακτικό, το Φεστιβάλ Ελληνικού Κινηματογράφου του Λονδίνου είναι έτοιμο να ανοίξει τις πόρτες του και να υποδεχτεί το κοινό του, στις 7 Οκτωβρίου.
Η είσοδος είναι ελεύθερη για το κοινό, σε όλες τις προβολές.
Με πείσμα, κόντρα στην κρίση, το φεστιβάλ που αγαπήθηκε από κοινό και δημιουργούς μένει πιστό σε αυτό που έθεσε ως στόχο εξαρχής: να είναι το διεθνές σημείο συνάντησης για το σύγχρονο ελληνικό φιλμ από όλο τον κόσμο.
Φέτος το φεστιβάλ θα διαρκέσει από τις 7 έως τις 18 Οκτωβρίου. Στο διάστημα αυτό θα παρουσιάσει περισσότερες από 60 επιλεγμένες ταινίες στα Westbourne Studios (242Acklam Road, London W10 5JJ) δίπλα στην πιο καλλιτεχνική συνοικία του Λονδίνου, τοPortobello, ενώ θα παρουσιάσει διαδικτυακά και 19 επιλεγμένα σενάρια μικρού και μεγάλου μήκους. Στις ταινίες συμπεριλαμβάνονται: μυθοπλασίας μεγάλου μήκους, μυθοπλασίας μικρού μήκους, ντοκιμαντέρ, πειραματικές ταινίες, animation και ταινίες βιντεοτέχνης.
Το φεστιβάλ δέχεται ταινίες και σενάρια από σύγχρονους Έλληνες δημιουργούς από όλο τον κόσμο, αλλά και από ξένους των οποίων η δουλειά έχει ελληνικό
ενδιαφέρον. Αποτελεί ένα από τα πλέον σημαντικά γεγονότα παρουσίασης του σύγχρονου ελληνικού πολιτισμού στη βρετανική μητρόπολη και ευρύτερα στην Ευρώπη, προβάλλοντας ένα θετικό και δημιουργικό πρόσωπο της Ελλάδας στο εξωτερικό. Με τα παράλληλα διαδικτυακά projects σε όλη τη διάρκεια του χρόνου, το Φεστιβάλ Ελληνικού Κινηματογράφου Λονδίνου δημιουργεί τις συνθήκες για την προώθηση των σύγχρονων Ελλήνων δημιουργών, ανοίγει ευκαιρίες δια-δικτύωσης και συνεργασίας και προωθεί τις νέες τεχνολογίες, που συνδυάζουν το παλιό καλό σινεμά με τις νέες δυνατότητες που προσφέρει η
εξέλιξη της εποχής μας.
Το φεστιβάλ θα ολοκληρωθεί στις 18 Οκτωβρίου με τη βραδιά των «Βραβείων Οδυσσέας», όπου και θα βραβευτούν οι καλύτερες ταινίες του φεστιβάλ σε διάφορες κατηγορίες, καθώς και δημιουργοί και καλλιτέχνες. Τα βραβευμένα έργα θα παρουσιαστούν το Δεκέμβριο του 2013, στο Ίδρυμα Μιχάλης Κακογιάννης, στην Αθήνα.
